Thinking about joining us for a day hike in the Blue Mountains? Here is what makes us specialWhen you think of a Blue Mountains tour, what comes to mind? A quick bus ride from Sydney, a rushed stop at Echo Point to snap a photo of the Three Sisters, and back to the city before you’ve even had a chance to breathe in the mountain air? We do things differently. At Emu Trekkers, we believe that the best way to experience the Blue Mountains isn’t from a crowded viewing platform—it’s by getting off the beaten track, lacing up your hiking boots, and immersing yourself in nature. Beyond the Ordinary: A Small-Group Hiking Adventure
Our full-day trek is designed for those who crave adventure and connection. Instead of hopping on a tourist bus, we take the scenic train from Sydney's CBD, just like the locals do. With a small group of like-minded adventurers and a passionate private guide, we’ll hike deep into the heart of the Blue Mountains, exploring hidden waterfalls, towering rock formations, and the serene beauty of a World Heritage-listed wilderness. Yes, we’ll see the Three Sisters—but not like everyone else. Instead of jostling for a spot at the lookout, we’ll descend into the eucalyptus-filled valley, far from the crowds. You’ll climb over 800 steps and emerge right beneath these towering rock formations, earning your view in the most rewarding way possible. Nature, Challenge & Connection This isn't just a sightseeing tour—it's a full-body experience. On our day hike, you'll be pushing your limits while still having time to soak in the beauty around you. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just looking for a challenge, our pace is designed to balance adventure with enjoyment. And at the end of the day? You can reward yourself with a well-earned ice cream or drink, celebrating the good vibes of a day spent outdoors. Travel with Purpose The best part? Every step you take is making a difference. As Australia’s first not-for-profit adventure tour operator, Emu Trekkers is 100% volunteer-run, with all proceeds going to help kids in need. Since 2017, we’ve donated over $185,000 to organizations supporting children's education, health, and welfare, including the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and UNICEF Australia. We believe that every child deserves access to the resources they need to thrive, and we’re committed to making that happen—one trek at a time. Our guides are at the heart of this mission. They give their time voluntarily, not just because they love hiking, but because they are deeply passionate about helping young people and creating positive change. When you hike with us, you're not just exploring—you’re supporting a cause driven by purpose and community. Protecting and Celebrating the Australian Environment The Blue Mountains is a stunning yet fragile ecosystem, and we believe in sharing it responsibly. Our tours are designed to minimise our footprint, encouraging slow, immersive travel that fosters a genuine love for the outdoors. By walking instead of driving, sticking to designated trails, and practicing Leave No Trace principles, we help preserve this World Heritage-listed landscape for future generations. Raising Awareness and Encouraging Dialogue Many travellers seek a deeper understanding of the places they visit. On our tours, we not only explore the Blue Mountains but also discuss important social and environmental issues affecting Australia. From the history and ongoing struggles of Indigenous communities to the challenges of conservation in a rapidly changing climate, we create space for thoughtful conversations and learning. So when you join an Emu Trekkers hike, you're not just taking an adventure—you’re becoming part of a movement that supports children, protects nature, and sparks meaningful discussions. Join us and be part of something bigger.
