Emu Trekkers was able to successfully resume many of its hikes during 2023.

With a successful relaunch, we were able to take out over 200 people into the outdoors, and raise $25,000 for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and UNICEF Australia.

This brought our total donations to $150,000. Read our 2023 Annual Report to find out more about Emu Trekkers' activities throughout the year.

Emu Trekkers remained relatively quiet throughout the 2022 financial year due to the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 and extreme weather events.

Whilst many trails remained closed and tourism demand was low, we were fortunately able to offer 8 day hikes and 3 overnight hiking experiences for 126 participants.

With the support of our long-term volunteer team, we were also able to spend some additional time planning new hiking experiences, recognising the opportunities that rebuilding presents.

Emu Trekkers had a quieter year in 2021 due to the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. While we were unable to run our regular tour offerings, we were able to donate:

  • $10,000 to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation
  • $10,000 to UNICEF

We also invested in launching new hiking experiences for the tourism market.
